This is a participatory, hands-on learning space for learning foreign languages and other cultures while having fun. The MCV is open to all. The official language here is English and English speakers from various countries are on staff. This is a place where students can experience not only English, but also a variety of other languages, and learn foreign languages in a real-life environment through multilingual and cross-cultural experience programs and free talk. Students can also be involved in the operation as interns.
In this program, courses on East Asian international relations and economics, culture, society, and history are taught in English. Another feature of this program is that international students can study alongside their Japanese student peers.
Various activities are also held regularly, including seasonal events such as Halloween and Christmas, various events such as welcome parties for international students, and games using foreign languages planned by MCV student interns. Students can improve their language skills and deepen their understanding of different cultures while experiencing foreign cultures and customs.
Students can make an appointment to receive study support at the MCV and get advice on how to study in a way that suits them best, helping them to achieve their goals and pass certification exams. We also offer one-on-one and small-group English conversation lessons where students can improve their English conversation skills, starting at a level that fits each students’ individual needs.
As a learning opportunity for cross-cultural exchange with foreign countries, we offer the Weekly Wednesday World Chitchat Session, an online session with partner universities. Students from 11 countries, including the U.S. and Germany, participate in this event, enjoying chatting and engaging in lively exchanges.
