Informasi fakultas

Students receive guidance that matches their career plans

Classes are held that match each students' career plans and goals, including advancement to university or graduate school studies. Detailed guidance is given for university entrance examination preparation, with instruction covering essay writing and interviews. For admission to graduate school, a seminar format gives students opportunities to explore research topics. Scholarly literature search methods and strategies for writing resumes, reports, and research plans are covered to provide a full range of skills required for the research process. Students also learn the written expressions necessary for carrying out these activities.

A curriculum that matches each students' Japanese level

Classes are separated by skill level. The curriculum provides classes for each skill level, from beginner to advanced. Students naturally develop the 4 language skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. There are also preparatory courses for taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

Small-size classes

Classes are small in size. This promotes an educational environment where students can develop closer relationships with their professors, and are able to ask questions about points they do not understand and receive detailed guidance.

Developing the skills to understand the relationships between oneself and various ideas, things and people

The diversity of international students is cultivated in an education that encourages the exploration of the relationships between students and others, as well as with society as a whole. Specifically, classes are held that 1) promote discussion and exchange of opinions among international students and Japanese students surrounding themes relevant to international students, and 2) identify themes students can closely relate to and explore among both international and Japanese students, and then make presentations on those findings. Through this work, students cultivate the skills to understand the relationships between themselves and various ideas, things, and people. Students will strive to attain the thinking skills needed for university and graduate school study together with the 4 language skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Off-campus Studies

Through off-campus study programs, participants can raise their awareness and knowledge of Japanese culture, daily life, and economic activities. Past off-campus study programs have included visits to the Suntory Beer Factory in Musashino, the Yokohama Cup Noodle Museum, the Morinaga Tokyo Dairy Factory in Tama, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, the Ghibli Art Museum, the Tachigawa Disaster Prevention Center, Tokyo Imperial Palace, Jindai-ji Temple, and Takahata-fudo temple.

Special consideration given for enrollment at Teikyo University

Students that have taken the preparatory Japanese Language Course and wish to enroll at Teikyo University full-time are given special considerations, such as a waiver for some enrollment fees.
