Japanese language examinations are the basis for evaluating Japanese proficiency and basic academic skills of international students and as per its description, there are listening and reading comprehension questions.

2. Written Expression
Depending on the skill level, writing practice is carried out to enhance students' writing ability. In the advanced class, summarization of long compositions is practiced to enable students to write reports at their university.
In the previously-used "Privately Financed Foreign Students Integrated Examination", English was included as a subject, but it is not in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU). However, many universities include English in their entrance examinations. Even after admission, it becomes a compulsory subject because it is considered important in the learning process.
