Tuition exemption and scholarship programs for privately-funded international students

DHU has tuition exemption and scholarship programs available for enrolled privately-funded international students.
According to students’ academic records at the time of enrollment, up to 50% of tuition can be waived. There are also scholarships available paid as a monthly stipend of 50,000 yen.

International Student Support

Many courses have been established specifically for international students for improving their Japanese language ability required for study at DHU and for future employment. Students are assigned to different Japanese language classes according to their ability so that they can learn at their own language level.
The university also holds off-campus Japanese cultural events, with activities including Zen meditation and the holding of tea ceremonies.
DHU also has a dedicated international student consultation desk to help students with matters related to class registration and study, as well as provide information on scholarships for international students.

Career Support

DHU is able to achieve a high rate of employment for its graduates thanks to its strong network with various industries and the personalized career support provided to students from their first year of study onwards. The faculty, who have strong personal networks within various industries, and the dedicated career development staff are highly experienced in providing the support students need to realize their career paths. They provide assistance such as career counseling and job interview practice sessions. DHU helps make students’ dreams a reality by holding many of its own career development events, such as employment and business seminars and on-campus presentations by companies. There are also resources specific to DHU’s creative curriculum, with seminars for portfolio development and meetings with hiring staff where students can receive advice on the creation of their portfolios.

Student Residence Halls

Student residence halls are available for students studying away from home. Residence halls are comprised of primarily single rooms, and all rooms are fully-equipped for internet access, which is essential for students at DHU. Breakfast and dinner are provided. Meals are planned by a nutritionist and prepared with students’ health in mind. For daily life, dormitory managers live on-site and assist students with their needs. Security systems are also in place for students’ safety. These residence halls are also very affordable compared to living in an apartment or other off-campus housing. For these reasons, we strongly recommend students stay at these residence halls during their studies at DHU.

Peer Support

The campus peer supporter program began in April, 2015 in order to provide an environment for students to support one another. The first phase has second and third-year students active in the program. Peer supporters hold regular events and establish an on-campus consultation booth where students themselves plan and manage all activities.

Peer supporters reach out to students to provide assistance to those looking for help.
