The Osaka University of Tourism was established in 2000 as the first university for tourism in Japan. The Faculty of Tourism and Faculty of Cross-Cultural Studies were established with the aim to train professionals of tourism and develop capable individuals with a "Spirit of Hospitality" that Japan is renowned for, and whom we can proudly send forth into the world to share the charm and culture of Japan.
In the Faculty of Tourism, students will be able to learn and practically apply their knowledge within actual fields of tourism, such as the travel, aviation and hotel industries.
In the Faculty of Cross-Cultural Studies, students get the opportunity to learn and communicate fluently in both Japanese and English, learn about the rich culture of Japan, and realize their own goals in becoming individuals who can actively participate in global companies and international organizations.

This faculty consists of a small group of 60 students in every academic year. We are dividing the students in 3 groups for particularly important classes like English and Japanese language in order to attain improved efficiency.
We are offering Japanese geography and history classes and some of the Japanese language classes exclusively for international students, taking into account their relative inexperience in those fields.
