Transcending borders and cultures to become active members of international society

The Faculty of International Communication was founded in 1999 as a new faculty based in the Ichigaya campus, and is now in its 15th year. The curriculum features a study abroad program for all students, and this ground-breaking practice, suitable for our era of internationalization, has spread to other universities since. In addition to study in English, the unique program also offers study abroad using German, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Korean languages.
The Faculty's name, "International Communication" reflects the course's goals of using dialogue, exchange, and interaction between cultures to nurture understanding and empathy for those from different cultural backgrounds, in order to build more amicable relationships between individuals and nations. By providing engagement and interaction with other cultures, we are striving to develop students into global individuals capable of thinking and acting as members of international society.
