Nurturing solid language skills alongside poise and strength in negotiation

The educational goal of Kyorin University is to nurture internationally-minded students with the spirit and drive to serve society and to develop highly capable human resources for international cooperation. The university has 4 faculties in fields of science and humanities and 3 graduate schools, with a vocational school for nursing attached to the School of Medicine. Each faculty and department features its own special areas of study and research while maintaining close cross-organizational cooperation that extends beyond their respective specializations. Classes and research are conducted in small units, with close attention given to each student. In 2012, Kyorin University was selected for the Global Human Resources Development Promotion Project sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and since then, continuous efforts have been made to further the internationalization of our campus.

International Exchange Events

Kyorin University hosts an International Exchange Gathering twice every year. More than 100 participants mingle and get to know one another in a lively atmosphere over light snacks.

We also offer activities around the Hachioji area, such as field trips, programs for experiencing Japanese culture, and exchange events with international students.

Chinese Salon and English Salon

A space is available where enrolled students are free to engage in open exchanges with native speakers of Chinese and English in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. International students whose native languages are Chinese and/or English participate as tutors. The space provides a great opportunity to experience and learn about different cultures.

Visa application procedures

We provide support and guidance for students who want to renew a study-abroad visa, apply for visas for designated activities (job hunting), and receive permits to engage in activities (part-time work) other than those permitted under one’s current status of residence.

Housing Assistance

We will introduce apartments that are leased by companies associated with the university to interested students.

Club activities

In addition to academic programs, the Hachioji campus is home to 50 exciting clubs and associations, where students can partake in international, cross-cultural activities.

Career Support

We provide job-hunting guidance once every year. We also sponsor a job-hunting group for international students.
