The Faculty of Law however does not just aim to produce legal professionals. We hope that you will all acquire the views, perspectives and knowledge necessary to contribute as successful members of society in a variety of different fields.
The Faculty of Law offers 3 programs to meet the different career paths of students. The ‘Business Qualification Program’ is aimed at students wanting to use their legal knowledge to be active in a variety of fields, the ‘Police & Fire Brigade Program’ is for students wanting to work in either one of these two professions, and the ‘Legal Professions and Public Servant Program’ is for students wanting to work as a government official or public servant. Choose the right course for you, take the classes related to your future career and work hard in making your dreams a reality.
The Faculty of Law offers general courses during the freshman year, such as constitutional law, civic law, criminal law, administrative law and commercial law, all of which allow students to acquire a solid base of knowledge in several legislative and law related disciplines. From the second year students deepen their knowledge in these fields and divide into the 3 separate programs to take additional specialist subjects directly linked to their chosen career path. There are also teaching related courses available for students wanting a career in the teaching profession and cultural studies subjects through which students can broaden their horizons.
Development training aims to enhance students’ communication skills, while giving them the opportunity to put the specialist legal knowledge acquired in lecture classes to practical use.

Students on the Citizen and Business Program will study consumer law, intellectual property law and other prominent business laws with the aim of passing qualifications before graduation, such as the real estate brokers exam, Japanese business law exam and other qualifications deemed necessary for working in the private sector.
Through this program, which supports students wanting a career as either a police officer or firefighter, students will study the necessary subjects required to work in one of these professions, as well as a variety of other subjects that will equip them with knowledge pertinent to actual positions in these fields.
This program is for students wanting to work in national or local administration and/or get certified as a judicial scrivener, administrative scrivener or attorney at law. The program focuses on the fundamental law related subjects, such as constitutional law, civic law and criminal law, necessary for people wanting to use the knowledge they acquired in the faculty of law to serve society.
